Putting your message in the hands of interested customers is as easy as handing them a flyer! With well-designed flyers, you can share anything with your target audience: advertise seasonal sales, generate buzz for upcoming events, or announce a grand opening. Whatever you have to say, custom flyers will help make that message stick.
Because flyers are so portable and affordable, you can incorporate them into virtually any marketing strategy—from passive display to active promotion. You can post flyers around your store, hand them to pedestrians, distribute them in local neighborhoods, or fold them into direct mailings. You could even link up with other local businesses by asking them to set out your flyers at the cash register.

If you’re feeling really creative, you can start with a blank or generic template flyer, too. Blank flyer templates are completely empty, while generic templates have simple black-and-white placeholders for you to fill in.
We have popular sizes for your promotional flyer template:
All template sizes are customizable on both the front and the back sides and are available in inches or millimeters depending on what your design needs are..
Once you’re done editing your design, you can quickly print your flyer with us — no need to worry about formatting or configuring your file.
We offer affordable print runs ranging from 50 to 50,000 flyers, with two paper options:
Both kinds of paper are high-quality, so the choice just depends on how you plan to use your flyers. For instance, if your flyers will be given out in a company meeting or sales pitch, then the pen-friendly option may be more useful so that people can take notes.
If you prefer to print your event program template somewhere else, we make that easy as well! You can download a PDF (including options for full bleed) and have your flyers printed at any local printer or online printing service of your choice.

When beginning any design project, your first step should always be to consider your audience, then make a plan and gather everything you’ll need to execute it. Key elements of your flyer design include high-quality images, original content, and a solid understanding of your company’s branding strategy and marketing goals. Once you’ve got those in hand, decide which flyer size (standard, rack card, or half sheet) fits you best and spend a few minutes perusing MyCreativeShop’s catalog of customizable flyer templates until you find the one that matches your ideal layout and style. To learn more about flyer size selection, check out our Ultimate Flyer Size Guide for Design & Print.
After you open your chosen template in our online editor, you can easily upload your photos and insert them into your design (or swap them in for the template’s stock photos using our “change image” feature). Applying your company’s signature color scheme is a breeze with our “replace this color” feature which swaps out every existing occurrence of a color in the document with any color you select. Insert your original content by copy/pasting or simply typing it into a new or existing textbox. Upload and insert your logo, find your signature font, and insert shapes, patterns, icons, and more until you’re satisfied with the finished product. Proofread for any glaring errors or typos, then have one or two others give it a onceover to ensure it conveys your message clearly and effectively. Once they’ve weighed in, you’re ready to print!

A flyer with tear off tabs can be a simple way to share your business and its contact information with your community. When designing your flyer, use the text box tool in our online editor to insert your company’s name, phone number, and website or physical address. Then, use the rotate function to turn the text box 90° from horizontal to vertical. Use copy/paste to create multiple text boxes across the bottom of your flyer, making sure to leave sufficient space between boxes. One great way to ensure you have consistent spacing is to enable our grid view.
Lastly, it’s also important to remember that there’s no need to put a design on the back of your flyer, since hanging them on a wall or other vertical surface is the best way to create access for those looking to snag a tab.
Get started by searching for tear off flyer templates in our catalog.
At MyCreativeShop, we customizable flyer templates in three sizes: Standard, Rack Cards, and Half Sheets. A Standard flyer measures 8.5” x 11” and is the largest of the three options. Rack Cards measure 4” x 9” and work well on a counter, in wall displays or anywhere with limited space and high foot traffic. Half Sheets are 5.5” x 8.5” and are exactly what their name suggests - a half sheet of standard paper. The size you choose will depend on the information you need to include in your design and in the way you plan to display/distribute your finished flyer.
We also offer flyers in millimeter sizing (A4, A5 and DL).

A rack card is a flyer that measures 4” x 9.” The term “rack card” refers to their ease of display in a wall rack. Rack cards are small enough to be easily carried and distributed, but their smaller size also requires wise design choices so that your message can be clearly read and understood. MyCreativeShop offers a variety of customizable rack card flyer templates for you to choose from. Just set the size filter to 4" x 9".
Before beginning any design process, it is imperative to settle on a clear purpose for your finished document. When designing a flyer, there should be a well-defined Call to Action that motivates the reader to DO something specific, such as attend an upcoming sale, place an order, or schedule a free consultation. Using bold fonts, call-out boxes, and bright colors can help to make your message stand out. Including eye-catching images and original content can drive your point home. Call-out boxes are an ideal location to share key dates and times, along with your contact information. Your logo and signature color scheme are also essential inclusions as you work to increase brand recognition. Make sure that every element in your design has a purpose and aligns with your branding strategy.
If you start from one of our pre-built templates, you'll find a lot of the hard work is already done. Simply utilize the tools in our online editor to swap out placeholder images and text, swap out the template’s existing color scheme for your company’s signature color palette or CMYK color codes, and upload your own images and logo. As always, finish by proofreading yourself and having a friend or two give it a onceover.
When selecting the best font size for any document, the main factor to consider is the distance at which it will be viewed by the reader. The farther away the viewer is, the larger the font must be in order to be clearly read and understood. Additionally, larger fonts can be used to draw attention to important details like headings and sale or discount information in call-out boxes. To make the font size selection as uncomplicated as possible, MyCreativeShop’s online editor offers recommended font sizes by text type (headings, subheadings, paragraphs, and more), and those sizings automatically change with the document type. Because a flyer is most often read at arm's-length, the minimum font size we recommend using is 10pt - small enough to make room for other important details while still large enough to read clearly.
A good flyer design is one that’s effective. In order to be successful, there are three key targets your flyer needs to hit. First, it should be attention-grabbing. If your flyer doesn’t get people to stop and look, there’s no point. Next, your flyer must tell people something they don’t already know. An effective flyer shares just enough information to pique the interest of the reader and motivate them to act. Finally, a truly effective flyer is honest, authentic, and persuasive. Once you’ve gotten the reader’s attention and shared your message, nothing will happen unless you’ve been convincing. Pull them in, tell them your story, and persuade them to do something about it - a recipe for good flyer design!
While both a flyer and a brochure can contain similar information, a flyer is a single sheet of paper with no folds, while a brochure is a single sheet of paper folded one or more times to create separate panels of content.
To be effective, the word count of a flyer should be limited to anywhere from 50-100 words. If more words are needed to get your message across, a brochure should be considered instead.
Before hanging up any flyer, always make sure that you have permission to post your material. Make a list of local businesses, organizations, and more that your target audience would frequent. Popular flyer display locations include grocery store bulletin boards, neighborhood park information kiosks, schools, and local government offices. Fitness centers, clinics, churches, and apartment complexes are also possible options. If your flyer will appeal to the local college crowd, consider getting permission from the university housing office to post your flyer in dormitory common areas and dining halls. Your local shopping mall may also have a designated space for flyers and notices, so explore all your available options before you paper the town with your design!
A flyer and a leaflet can have similar content, but a flyer is single flat sheet of paper with no folds and a low word count, while a leaflet (much like a brochure) contains more details than a flyer and is almost always folded.
A good promotional flyer will make the reader stop and look. How, you ask? The best flyers capture their audiences attention with brilliant images, bright colors, or powerful words (or some combination of the three). To create your own, begin with a plan for success. Gather the image(s), logo, and original content necessary to complete your vision, then browse our catalog of promotional flyer templates. Once you’ve found the one that fits with your company’s personality and branding strategy, begin by applying your signature color scheme to the template. Next, swap in your own logo and high-quality images for the stock template graphics and exchange all placeholder text for your own original content. Take the time to ensure that your title is effective and draws the reader in, both with the actual words and your font choice. Change up the overall font style, color, size, and more to fit your design, making sure your contact info is easily visible. Consider including a QR code that links directly to your website so that you can save precious flyer space, avoid clutter, and maximize your conversion rates. Proofread the finished product before you place a print order with us or send it to your own printer.
