It's that time!! Time to make sure the horses at Gentle Spirit Horses Rescue have hay for the long South Dakota winter. Thanks to drought, we are already feeding hay so are getting SIX semi loads this year. Prices are up due to drought and fuel costs and each semi will be approximately 33 tons and cost us $6000 ... so we need to raise $36,000 compared to last year's $24,000 (for 5 loads). It seems crazy but together we can do it! (Note - we have added several larger donation options so our "goal" is higher, but our real goal is $36,000. Obviously if we raise more we can help more!)
Our first two semi loads are being delivered on September 17, 2022, and I would LOVE to be able to hand him a check for $12,000 then. Can we get those paid for??
Every donation counts, and every donation is tax-deductible where allowed by law as we are a 501(c)3. We are South Dakota's largest horse rescue and average between 50-70 horses in the rescue at any time, and we are law enforcement's first line of defense in cases of neglect, which we suspect we will see a lot of this year.
